The Ontario Justice Education Network (OJEN) is offering youth workers, community leaders, educators and frontline service providers in Ottawa a FREE professional development opportunity that builds knowledge and understanding of the law governing rights and responsibilities during encounters with police. 

Navigating Police Encounters Training workshop:

  • Date: December 15, 2021
  • Time: 10:30 am - NOON
  • Format: Zoom

Topics to be covered include:

  • Rights and responsibilities with police
  • Complaints process and mechanisms for police oversight
  • Reliable sources of legal information and support
  • Questions and sharing experiences
  • Meeting with justice sector professionals and more!
DEADLINE for registration is Wednesday, November 17th at 6:00 p.m.
 
Workshop materials will be distributed to registered participants.  Registration is limited and offered on a first-come-first-serve basis.
