Flip Your Wig For Justice

JEN/ROEJ has partnered with five other not-for-profit organizations to launch the 2nd annual Flip Your Wig for Justice Campaign.  Together with the Association in the Defence of the Wrongfully Convicted (AIDWYC), Canadian Civil Liberties Association, (CCLA), Community Legal Education Ontario (CLEO), METRAC Action on Violence, and Pro Bono Students Canada, (PBSC), we are raising awareness about the access to justice crisis in Ontario and raising funds to support our programs.  The campaign is attracting widespread support within the legal profession.  Over 100 prominent members of the profession, (including Justice Célynne Dorval from the Ottawa OJEN Committee) have signed on as campaign Ambassadors and 11 law firms have become Premiere Partners. And the Hamilton OJEN Committee with Justice Jane Milanetti got us off to a great start last year by entering a team in the Flip Your Wig Campaign.

How can you get involved?

  • Register online and take pledges to wear a wig for a day on February 26th
  • Make a pledge for someone else who has registered to wear a wig
  • Make a personal or organizational donation online or by cheque, (make it out to Ontario Justice Education Network, “Flip Your Wig” in the memo line, and mail it to Osgoode Hall, 130 Queen Street West, Toronto, Ontario, M5H 2N6)
  • Spread the news!  Tweet, post or speak about the FYW Campaign and the access to justice crisis in Ontario!  For all of the tweeters, include @flipwig and #flipyourwig.  Check out some of the facts and stats on the Campaign website.  Follow @ojen_roej for news and updates
