Michele Valentini 2017

A recent graduate of the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, Michele supported OJEN programming for 2 years in both Ottawa and Toronto.  She is currently completing her articles with the Ministry of the Attorney General, Crown Law Office – Civil (CLOC) Division.

During her four-month placement in the summer of 2015, Michele demonstrated outstanding initiative and capability, making significant contributions to several major OJEN initiatives.  She took on a leading role in organizing OJEN’s annual Summer Law Institute for teachers by recruiting speakers and promoting the event through various media.  She also contributed to the development of 3 classroom resources.

After completing her internship with OJEN, Michele continued to volunteer with OJEN’s justice education projects in Ottawa while continuing with her studies.

She, planned and coordinated a full day Persons’ Day program for young women in Ottawa; sat on the local OJEN Committee that develops justice education initiatives in East Region; co-facilitated a day long Professional Development workshop for Ottawa area teachers with OJEN’s Director of Educator Support and coordinated and facilitated the Access to Justice game, an experiential classroom project with two Ottawa high schools.

Michele graduated from law school this summer and we wish her great success as she begins her career in law.
