Davis Cup, Peel Mock Trial Tournament

2025 Tournament Information

Preliminary Round: March 27

Final Round: April 11

Materials:

The Davis Cup follows the OOCMT rules with the following exceptions:

  1. Only four lawyers are allowed in each line up.
  2. Only the lawyer who is conducting the examination in chief/cross examination of the witness may object when the opposing counsel is asking questions.
  3. The Peel Mock Trial committee holds a Coaches’ Meeting in February to review any other fact specific issues with the problem and/or specific rules that may need to be modified for the problem.  At the conclusion of that meeting a Local Rules Addendum is provided and any other modifications to the Rules are set out in that Addendum.  Points 1 and 2 are permanent differences in the Davis Cup Rules.
  4. While witnesses may be permitted to use their Affidavit, there will be a penalty between one and two marks deducted in each round for each witness that uses their Affidavit, depending on the extent of the use.  The question of whether it is one or two marks is a question for the presiding judge to determine, depending on the extent to which the Affidavit is used.

You will find everything else you need on this website.
