One of the 5 key priorities we\u202fidentified\u202fwas to:\u202f<em>engage youth directly to increase the diversity of youth served.<\/em>\u202fAdvancing this goal, our programming focus has shifted from creating content for youth (youth-focused) to creating content with youth (youth-centred).\u202f\u202fA $20,000 grant from the\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.friendlyfuture.com\/en\/foundation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>TELUS Friendly Future Foundation<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u202f<\/strong>provides an exciting opportunity for students\u202fto create and share their own short films to inspire,\u202feducate\u202fand challenge their peers\u202fon law and social justice issues.\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>New program combines justice education with video production training\u202f<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The grant from the\u202f<strong>TELUS Friendly Future Foundation<\/strong>\u202fwill\u202fallow\u202fOJEN\u202fto build\u202fa\u202fvideo production and\u202fdigital storytelling\u202fcomponent\u202finto our\u202fexisting\u202fjustice education programming.\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout 2026, 100 Black, Indigenous, racialized, and equity-deserving\u202fstudents\u202ffrom three high schools in Greater Toronto Area (GTA),\u202fHamilton and Peel Region will\u202fparticipate\u202fin\u202f<strong>Youth Social Justice Vibes<\/strong>.\u202fWhile deepening their understanding of law and building legal life skills,\u202fparticipants will\u202falso gain hands-on experience in film production technology.\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The program culminates with students\u202fcreating and sharing short videos on law and social justice themes using\u202ftheir smartphones and mobile film kits. The content they create will be amplified through the digital platforms youth engage with every day to reach a wide youth audience.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the support of the\u202f<strong>TELUS Friendly Future Foundation<\/strong>,\u202f<strong>Youth Social Justice Vibes<\/strong>\u202fprogram gives youth the tools to create justice education content that is most meaningful to them and their peers.
