OJEN in the Community

Everyone faces legal issues at some point in their life. Perhaps it’s a problem with a landlord or an employer, a marriage breakdown, a police encounter, or drafting a will. Understanding how to navigate the legal system is an essential life skill, but finding reliable and accessible legal information and education can be a challenge.

Here’s where we can help. OJEN partners with community groups across Ontario to deliver engaging and interactive programs and workshops for youth ages 12-29. Our programs  are designed to build knowledge, develop legal life skills, and increase comfort with legal professionals. They empoweryouth to manage legal issues in their own lives and find ways to make positive change in their communities.

OJEN programs also provide youth with opportunities to engage with legal professionals to address common misconceptions about the justice system. Legal professionals gain insight into the lived experiences of youth and have an opportunity for meaningful and positive interactions.
