Ontario Students Receive Bursaries

Each year the Association of Justices of the Peace of Ontario (AJPO), the Association of Ontario Judges (AOJ) and the Ontario Superior Court Judges’ Association (OSCJA) provide a bursaries to Ontario students in each of their judicial regions who are entering post secondary studies leading to a career in the justice sector.  Recipients are chosen based on academic excellence and financial need. 219 students applied to the bursary program this year.

22 students began their post-secondary education this fall with the help of a bursary from one of these judicial associations.  Their fields of study ranged from a wide range of law related programs, including policing, forensic science, criminology and political science, etc.

Many of the recipients expressed their appreciation for having been selected to receive a bursary, including this recipient of the Association of Ontario Judges bursary from Central East Region who wrote:

“Your investment in my education means so much to me and it is such an incredible honour to be recognized. I deeply respect the work of each Justice in Ontario and receiving your letter has been most overwhelming.”
