OJEN is excited to offer a series of free webinars featuring leaders in a variety of areas of law and justice. The series takes the place of our two-day, in-person Summer Law Institute. The series includes six webinars beginning on July 22nd and running weekly until August 25th. You can access up-to-the-minute information on current legal issues from the comfort of your home! Our line-up of speakers includes experts, activists and others on the leading edge of legal history. Register for each seminar individually.

Webinars with open registration:

July 22, 3:00 p.m. – Charlene Bearhead– Ms. Bearhead is the lead author of “Their Voices Will Guide Us”.  This curriculum resource turns classrooms into spaces of critical thinking and reflections around perceptions and realities of Indigenous women’s and girls’ lived experiences. She will join us to speak about the National Inquiry into Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls (NIMMIWG) and the curriculum it inspired.  Ms Bearhead is a longtime Indigenous activist and educator. She is the head of Education and Programming for the Indian Residential School History and Dialogue Centre at the University of British Colombia, the Director of Reconciliation for Canadian Geographic and was the Education Coordinator for the NIMMIWG.
