April 20: Indigenous Youth Perspectives on the Justice System: Listening and Learning

Lawyers, workers, students, educators, and members of the OJEN community: please join us on April 20th, from 12-3 pm for the Indigenous youth perspectives on the justice system: listening and learning event. This event is an opportunity for our community in Toronto to support Indigenous youth in their ongoing work towards justice system education and reform. Our youth speakers will be travelling from Sandy Lake First Nation and Thunder Bay for this presentation, in which they will update us on the implementation of recommendations identified at the Aboriginal Youth Designing a Better Justice System event in August 2017, and the Feathers of Hope: A First Nations Youth Action Plan forum and report (released March 2016). The presenters will share their efforts to develop technology solutions to build a justice system that is reflective of Aboriginal experiences and responsive to Aboriginal traditions, and speak about their ongoing work with the Feathers of Hope Initiative.

We hope you can join us for this listening and learning opportunity. Pizza lunch will be provided.
