Orientation Materials for OJEN Classroom Programs

OJEN has created a set of simple information packages to help legal volunteers (like lawyers, paralegals, judges, or police officers) prepare to visit classrooms or run OJEN programs in schools. It includes some welcome information from OJEN’s Executive Director, instructions on how to prepare for your visit, tips for speaking with students, and OJEN’s Volunteer Code of Conduct. Please ensure that all volunteers who will be working with high school classes receive a copy of this orientation package: DOWNLOAD VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION PACKAGE

We have also compiled an information package for teachers who are hosting OJEN volunteers in their classrooms. It contains information about OJEN resources, a guide to preparing for the visit, and an outline of our expectations for both teachers and volunteers. Please ensure that all teachers who will be hosting an OJEN volunteer receive a copy of this orientation package: DOWNLOAD TEACHER ORIENTATION PACKAGE.

Thank you for helping to plan and support justice education in schools. If you have any questions, or if there’s any other information you require, please email us at info@ojen.ca
