My Journey With OJEN’S Youth Leadership Team

By Kevine Ishimwe M

These past months have been the most fulfilling and memorable of this unforgettable year!

It was such an honour to have been a team member of the Youth Leadership Team, to have been able to help create the Charter Challenge and to have a chance to meet and talk with so many great, empowering, and intelligent people throughout this journey.

I am very grateful for the opportunity OJEN gave me to better understand the Canadian legal system and to improve my leadership skills. Being part of a fantastic project with an incredible team allowed me to better understand the true meaning of global acceptance, especially within the French community, while having the opportunity to make a difference in our community.

Together we were able to achieve our goal of bringing the Charter Challenge to life. This made me realize how lucky I was to be in a team full of strong and dedicated leaders, making this project such an incredible experience.

The biggest highlight of this project was my fantastic team, made up of outstanding individuals whom I had the pleasure to work with. I couldn’t have asked for a more supportive, hardworking and respectful atmosphere.

I look forward to bringing the skills and talents that I have developed and apply them to my future projects.

I want to sincerely thank Thomas Gallezot, Nadine Demoe and Raras Azzahra from OJEN. Also, a huge thank you all to my fellow youth OJEN leaders. It has been an absolute honour to spend this past year with some of the proudest Canadians from my province. I wish every one of you the best of luck on your future projects!
