Law Day activity: judges available for virtual classroom visits

Would you like help educating your students and the public about Canada’s judicial system from a provincial or superior court judge in April?

As a joint outreach activity, the Canadian Superior Court Judges Association and the Canadian Bar Association are offering high schools across the country the opportunity to have a judge give a virtual talk on the vital role the judiciary serves in guaranteeing an open, independent and unbiased judicial system. This is an excellent opportunity for students to learn about how the Canadian justice system works and have their questions answered.

These free 30-minute virtual sessions are being held in honour of Law Day, a national event held every April to celebrate the signing of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. They are delivered by our national member network, which is made up of provincial and superior court judges who hold expert knowledge and positions of trust with Canadians and in their communities.

The sessions will be offered from April 19 to 29, 2022. Please note that the school will be responsible for providing the technology required in the classroom to host the virtual session.

We encourage you to book early to secure your preferred day and time. Click on the following link to complete the request: https://forms.gle/GWAAgELvUHZbGES96
