OJEN is pleased to welcome Antoine Fougère-Ramsamooj to our team as the new Project Leader – Francophone Programming.
Antoine will manage classroom and courthouse visits, as well as OJEN’s Francophone programs. He is looking forward to connecting with teachers across the province.
Antoine has strong roots in the Franco-Ontarian community and brings valuable experience in the education and community sectors. He recently completed a Master’s degree in Global Affairs at the University of Toronto’s Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy. He also holds a dual Honours Bachelor degree in Arts & Science and History, and a second Masters degree in History, both from McMaster University.
Antoine worked for several years with a non-profit organization dedicated to welcoming and settling Francophone immigrants to the Greater Toronto Area. He also served on the student liaison and advisory committee at the Université de l’Ontario français.
In addition to his community-based work, Antoine was a middle school and high school teacher. He was also a teaching assistant for undergraduate and graduate students at both McMaster University and the University of Toronto.
The Project Leader position brings together Antoine’s educational, professional and personal interests and makes him uniquely well-suited for this role. Over the summer, Antoine will be hard at work preparing several popular OJEN programs to offer students when they return to class in the fall.
“Even though this is a new position for me, it feels almost like a homecoming of some kind. The Franco-Ontarian community occupies such an important place in my life, and I am thrilled to be able to give back in any way I can.”
