In Canada, criminal matters are treated differently depending on the age of the person who has committed the crime. Trial lawyer Jennifer Brevorka from Henein Hutchinson LLP explores the guiding legislation and legal principles underlying these differences. Using recent cases as examples, Jennifer discusses Canada’s view of justice, accountability, punishment and rehabilitation along with the legal rights of youth.
